Vernyra was born from a fascination with the places where music, folklore, and forgotten stories meet.
At its heart lies a world shaped by Slavic and Nordic traditions — ancient forests, old gods, spirits, distant roads, changing seasons, and the forces of nature that once carried meaning far beyond the landscape itself.
The music brings these influences into a cinematic folk sound built around powerful tribal rhythms, haunting strings, ancient-inspired instruments, atmospheric soundscapes, and expressive vocals. Some songs are fierce and rhythmic. Others are quiet, melancholic, or mysterious. Each one begins with a story.
Folklore is especially important to Vernyra. Figures and beliefs that survived for generations — sometimes only in fragments — offer far more than inspiration for fantasy. They reveal how people once understood fear, nature, death, freedom, love, and the unknown.
Vernyra Journal will explore that world beyond the music. Here we will share the legends and folklore behind selected songs, stories from the creation of new releases, visual concepts, and deeper journeys into the myths that inspire Vernyra.
The music may be new. The echoes behind it are much older.
